Congratulations Burcu & Gökhan!

On our travels in Europe, Maros and I escaped the children (who were left in the very capable hands of his family) and made a trip to the most amazing magical place – Pumakkale, Turkey. It is a World Heritage Site where terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water have formed all across the hill.  Pamukkale’s terraces are made of travertine, a sedimentary rock deposited by water from the hot springs.  Above it is the ancient city of Hierapolis and Cleopatra’s pools, which has been used as a spa since the 2nd century BC.  OK, enough with the geography lesson…

On our evening in the town below the white covered Pumakkale we walked up to the viewpoint where we snapped some shots.  Much to our surprise along walks a bride and a groom, who begin to pose for their friend who starts taking their picture with a cellphone.  So we felt as professionals that we needed to improve the situation. LOL!
As we proceeded to show them our portfolio on our iphone, to convince them to take their photos, the pictures spoke for themselves.  They agreed.  Next hurdle – they barely spoke any English!!  But, language barrier and all we got them to pose, mostly with sign language, and some translation by their friend. We captures some great images, in such an amazing place.   It was a wonderfully fun experience, as we finished up, with unbelief we walked back down to our hotel with huge smiles on our faces!

To start off the day I joined Marie-Eve and her amazing French Canadian family at her parents home.   She is so close to her family and I could feel the love and warmth their family has as her parents saw her for the first time in her wedding gown.   Maros had fun with the boys as they got ready in Tuscany.  We headed off for the ceremony at St. Peter’s Catholic Church and then captured their emotions as Chris and Marie-Eve saw each other for the first time on their wedding day.  After the ceremony we headed out to Bowness Park for some family portraits and then some bridal images.   The reception started of great with a wonderful entrance and then a gorgeous prayer by one of the flower girls who made us all tear up with her sweet words, sending love to all those suffering in Japan.   To end the night off, after dancing and limbo on the packed dance floor , we wound down with some gorgeous shots by the fireplace at the Al Ahzar center.

Well so it happened – there was a impromptu – boquet and garter toss! We summoned all the patrons at the lobby bar – some 16.5 of them and got on with the festivities
